• A 300km brevet from Alkmaar? Is that new? Yes it is, where before, people mainly started from Amsterdam or Overveen for a a brevet, for the first time there is now a start and finish in the city where the Victory Victory began in 1573. After the start, we meander through various villages to the Kooy to then wave to the TESO boat and outside the dyke through the dunes down through places like Callantsoog, Petten, Bergen aan Zee and Egmond where we almost reach the starting point. 
  
  
  If you have managed to control yourself subdued and keep following the route, you will pass through the famous locks of IJmuiden further south before turning off after about 200 km towards the east. Via Vriezekoop, Bilderdam, Vrouwenakker, Amstelhoek and Abcoude you gradually approach the starting point of several other breaks in North Holland. From here it is still about 50km through the Purmerland and the Beemster, right through the polders where good lighting is recommended, after which you cross one of the infamous bridges back into Alkmaar.
